Invisalign for Teens

Invisalign for teens.Invisalign Teen is based on the same revolutionary treatment technology as the popular Invisalign System. Instead of metal brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners that fit directly onto the dental arch to straighten teeth. Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible when worn and completely removable for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, which means they already come with a number of advantages for teens. For one, there's no need to worry about having braces for school pictures, prom, or other important milestones. Plus, because patients remove the aligners to eat, drink, brush, and floss, teens can still enjoy all their favorite foods and maintain oral hygiene easily – all of which are major advantages for teenagers.

But Invisalign Teen comes with a few more advantages that are custom-tailored to the teenage lifestyle. Every aligner comes with a built-in Blue Dot Wear Indicator, which lets doctors, parents, and patients themselves know if the aligner is being worn enough or if they need to be a little more diligent. Invisalign Teen aligners can also be made with special "eruption tabs" that hold space open for teeth that have yet to fully grow in. Finally, every Invisalign Teen treatment course comes with 6 replacement aligners completely free of cost – so there's no need to worry if any get lost or broken!

Is Invisalign Teen Right for Me?

While Invisalign used to be relegated to only mild orthodontic conditions, advances in the technology now let it treat a wide range of orthodontic problems and malocclusions. Still, it's not right for everyone: in some cases, traditional braces are still the best treatment option. At your initial evaluation, Dr. Arbutante will perform a comprehensive examination of your orthodontic condition and talk with you about whether or not Invisalign Teen is a good treatment option for your unique situation.

If you do opt for Invisalign Teen treatment, the process will look very similar to traditional Invisalign. You'll have your own set of aligners custom-made to fit your exact bite and treatment plan, and you'll wear each pair of aligners 22 hours a day for about 2 weeks before switching to the next set, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. With each new set, your teeth will move closer to their final positions. Once you're finished, your beautiful new smile will be yours to keep for the rest of your life!
